Art Caffè Palindrome
I chose Art Caffè as location for the presentation of my book “Palindrome”.
A project born from the desire to communicate my idea of perfection through the photographs of models and objects with a painterly style, where symmetry is the dominant concept. Fashion and still-life, two different types of photography, which blend together to create an original style in unison.
16 paintings that seem to paint, 16 subjects extrapolated from the book. A lengthy process that lasted years in search of my perfect idea, where everything is exactly symmetrical as the titles of the works.
Atmosphere
Alessio Cocchi introduces the “ATMOSPHERE” exhibition. Blue and orange, sky and sunrise in Phuket. High color, wide angle, exasperated graphic sign. Photographs that seem to paint exactly symmetrical landscapes, graphic symbol of perfection.
PHUKET’S PALINDROME LANDSCAPES.
Early in the morning, during my bicycle trips, finding the best sunrise’s colors. Sold out exhibition.
Burasari Thai Art
Alessio Cocchi opens the Thai Art Pictures Exhibition.
A tribute to Thailand: 21 landscapes and portraits. Ink jet color photographs mounted in wood frame are exhibited in the famous BURASARI HOTEL in Patong Beach.
The money raised from the exhibit has been entirely donated to the PHUKET SUNSHINE VILLAGE FOUNDATION.
Orchid
For a colorful exhibition a trip to the orchid garden is a must and the flowers still-life become paintings. Ink Jet prints on canvas.
RIGOROUSLY PALINDROME STYLE, DEEP COLORS OF NATURE.
The exhibition held in Art Caffè was completely sold out.
Sea Gypsy
I decided to take a portrait of each person living in the gypsy market village in Phuket, a magical place where you can feel the real Thai life. All the people invited to participate had a special character: you can see it in their expressions, dress style or undress style.
White powder, tattoos, typical accessories are all details of the people of the fisherman’s village, the first citizens of the island that are still living in the wild. Photographs shot with a white fabric background in Rawai beach, Phuket, with natural lights, B/W TMax films and my Rolleiflex.
Phuket Town
Walking into the Phuket Town Market with my Leica. People want to be in pictures, they love to be protagonists. I made this exhibition to stop the time here in Thailand, because I think that in a few years nothing will be the same.
Phuket Town Market is literally full of people who want to make a portrait. Every time I went to the market without my Leica, I thought: what a pity. Then a few days ago I went to the market armed with B&W films.
Shot with Leica MP, Kodak TMAX.
